How do I use live margins?

Margin calculation is a feature built into the expenses management add-on.

This feature allows you to calculate your gross margin per document.

The margin calculation is possible in four ways. By:

  • linking an expense to a sales invoice
  • using the purchase price from your items catalog
  • adding internal costs (e.g.: your sales team commissions)
  • adding internal hourly costs with the time tracking add-on

With this feature, you will also find the amount and percentage of margin in your listings and your exports; it then becomes very easy to know the margins for a given customer or staff member.

Important: margin calculation only works for the main currency of the account. If you create documents in other currencies, the margin can not be calculated.
